Great Gatsby 2 1/24/18
page 10-13:
- The narrator, Nick, is a "Caraway," which apparently means that he's from wealth and class. He's also an intellectual and went to Yale.
-Mr. Caraway introduces the setting, in New York City and the twin villages of west Egg and East Egg in Long Island.
-Note that East Egg is fancier than West Egg, where Caraway lives. West Egg is not as fancy as East Egg but it's still pretty fancy compared to the rest of the world.
-On the West Egg, Nick Caraway lives next to a huge mansion owned by a mysterious Mr. Gatsby.
-Nick goes one night to the East Egg to have diner with his cousin Daisy.
-On his visit he meets Miss Baker , and that's where I stopped my reading for the day.
