Gatsby (28-32)
- Nick meets Tom's mistress, her name is Myrtle.
-She lives in the valley of ashes, note: she is also married herself.
-Her husband is a very clueless man. Even Tom exclaims,"He's so dumb he doesn't know he's alive" (Fitzgerald pg. 30).
-Tom takes his mistress, Myrtle, along with Nick just being a ghost in a corner (basically third wheeling on their way to New York).
-Although, Myrtle or 'Mrs. Wilson' did go discretely in another cab.
-Mrs. Wilson buys a puppy once in New York.
-Nick tries to leave but Tom tells him to stay so he hesitantly remains there.
